CLIMBING.FAST. is a business aviation initiative to showcase the industry’s many societal benefits – from helping America’s small businesses stay competitive in a global economy, to driving opportunities for a next-generation workforce, to leading research, development and investments for tomorrow.

  • The business aviation industry supports 1.3 million American jobs and nearly $340 billion in economic output. This industry connects communities across nearly every corner of the country. In states like Alaska where only 18% of communities are connected to the road system, air service is essential for everyday needs.

  • Business aircraft complete around 15,000 flights yearly to support humanitarian efforts, including missions for natural disaster relief, the Red Cross and National Guard units.

  • As one of the earliest advocates for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), business aviation continues to invest in its broader adoption, supporting America’s agriculture economy and enhancing our energy security and dominance.

  • States with incentive programs for boosting SAF production, like Texas, are already seeing the impact. Earlier this year a $1.6 billion capital investment was announced to create a world-class SAF facility in the Lone Star State. Nationally, increased SAF production has the potential to create or support over 400,000 jobs.

What Congress Can Do

1.

Ensure the FAA implements the 2024 Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill to strengthen safety, grow the workforce and maintain America’s global leadership in aviation.

2.

Extend the 45Z biofuel tax credit, support the Farm to Fly Act (SB 144, HB TBD) and enhance the Department of Transportation’s Fueling Aviation’s Sustainable Transition (FAST) Grant programs to increase SAF availability and further technology development.

3.

Support administration and congressional leadership legislative efforts to improve the national airspace system, including: the air traffic controller workforce; air traffic control facilities and equipment; procurement, program efficiencies and facility realignment; and the budget process for the Airport & Airway Trust Fund (AATF).
