As the aviation industry in Europe advances toward a 2025 target of 2% sustainable aviation fuel, the EASA released data from 2024 showing 63.7 million gallons of SAF were available to all aircraft operators. This, in turn, reduced CO2 emissions by 714 kilotonnes. ICAO’s calculator equates such a large emissions reduction as equivalent to 10,000 flights between Madrid and Paris.
