As a global leader in timber exports, the state is now prioritizing the development of mass timber for modern construction and the production of sustainable aviation fuels derived from forest biomass. By transitioning to these advanced sectors, Georgia aims to leverage its massive natural resources to maintain its status as a forestry powerhouse.

Sustainable aviation fuel can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions from aircraft by 80% over legacy fuels, while also opening up opportunities for job creation in the tech, agriculture and other sectors and helping position the U.S. for energy independence.
