The Victoria Regional Airport (VCT) in Texas has secured an $11.1 million federal grant through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program for the 2026 fiscal year. This funding will support the next phase of airfield upgrades, specifically the planning and construction of Taxiways A4 and B3.

These structural updates are designed to streamline aircraft traffic, elevate overall airfield safety, and support flight operations, including those for commercial, business, military and emergency services. The project follows a prior $10.6 million federal grant in 2025 that went toward rebuilding Taxiway Charlie. Increased business aviation demand makes it a priority to keep community airports like VCT in peak operating condition.

Local leaders view the investment as a significant win for both Victoria County and the broader Crossroads region. According to local officials, the project will boost the area’s economic growth, support regional businesses and generate construction jobs. The funding is part of a larger nationwide effort by the FAA, which distributed nearly $1.1 billion to hundreds of facilities across the country. Design work is slated to begin once local administrative processes and procurement protocols are complete.
