Business aviation provider Flexjet is launching a major expansion of its global presence in Richmond Heights, OH – and the benefits in job creation and local investment that come with the plan.
As part of a multiyear project at Cuyahoga County Airport, Flexjet intends to create 976 full-time positions by the end of 2031, which is projected to generate $62.5 million in additional annual payroll.
To accommodate this staff growth, the firm intends to build a new administrative complex, a dedicated pilot training center, an auditorium and cafeteria facilities on campus.
To land the expansion over competing proposals from Florida and Texas, state officials approved a 15-year Job Creation Tax Credit estimated to be worth nearly $18.6 million. This investment builds upon the enterprise’s previous development in 2023, when it debuted a $50 million global operations center.
Public leaders highlight that the multi-phase transformation will significantly bolster the regional aerospace ecosystem while solidifying the area as a prominent operations hub for fractional jet ownership.
