If the U.S. wants to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) said we’ll need to look to the skies.

DOE outlined what it will take to get sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) — a drop-in jet fuel replacement that is produced through a variety of pathways, including the use of feedstocks like corn — to turn the corner from a burgeoning technology to a full-fledged player in the aviation fuel market.
