The GE Aerospace Foundation has introduced a substantial $30 million initiative called Lifting Futures, which aims to equip 10,000 individuals with advanced manufacturing skills by the end of the decade. This program initially focuses on five key regions: Auburn, Alabama; the Cincinnati-Dayton corridor; Dallas, Texas; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Wrocław, Poland. By collaborating with local educational institutions and providing grants of at least $500,000 to $1 million per site, the company intends to bridge the skilled labor gap and expand the talent pipeline required for future flight technologies.
In addition to workforce development, GE Aerospace is continuing a massive $1 billion investment into its U.S. production and supply chain throughout 2026. These funds are designated for upgrading facilities across more than 30 communities in the United States, specifically to increase the output of commercial and defense engines. By modernizing infrastructure and deploying cutting-edge tools like additive manufacturing and automated inspection systems, the company seeks to accelerate engine deliveries and improve the longevity of components, thereby reducing the time aircraft spend in maintenance.
